Principal's Message

Dear Parents / Guardians:

I am looking forward to a successful 2021-22 school year here at Orange Grove Junior High School. As principal of your child’s campus, my goals will be to challenge all students to reach higher academic levels and to support them in becoming the best in every endeavor they undertake. I can sense the energy building as we near the first day of school and open our doors to welcome our students back. Our OGJH team shares a strong commitment to provide a top-quality, educational experience for our students. We are committed to meeting the needs of all our students and preparing them for life beyond the classroom.

Despite the obstacles posed by COVID, our campus performed extremely well on the state-mandated STAAR exams. Juxtaposed against state and region averages, we scored well above the state across several subject areas. We are extremely proud of our students’ and teachers’ endeavors, and we project we will continue to experience many more successes. I have total confidence that we will achieve our goals and surpass the state performances in all aspects of the accountability system.

So that we can continue to experience high levels of academic performance, we must remain focused on our campus goals and persist in improving in the following areas:

exceed state STAAR performance in all areas of the accountability system,
increase student growth,
improve our student attendance rates, and
reduce student discipline issues so that more time is spent on instruction

We are dedicated to building a strong partnership with our parents and community. We cannot do this alone; we welcome your support and involvement.

As principal, I am both humbled and honored to be a part of the Orange Grove ISD community and I know that our combined efforts will result in our kids accomplishing great things!
