March 23, 2020
This is certainly a unique time for everyone across the nation - we face challenges on all fronts (social, economic, academics, athletics) that we have not faced in our generation.  I have no doubt that we will come back from this stronger and better.  We are here for each other and this when a community comes together to show our strength.
In the world of Athletics, we know this...no school facilities can be used for practice, workouts, etc. until further notice.  This is a UIL mandate that comes on the heels of Governor Abbott's closure of schools through 4/3.  UIL has also stated that the earliest games and contests may resume is 5/4.  We also know this is a fluid situation that could change so I will keep you posted.
We want to ensure that our athletes will continue to see the gains in strength that we have seen over the last several months.  As a result, I have attached a copy of a workout that can be accomplished at home (with minimal resources).  Any clarifications on exercises can be found on youtube.  This workout is specific for this week and a new one will be sent next week.  We will also post our workouts through the district Facebook page and our Athletics twitter account as well.
Please remember the district is providing free meals for all OGISD students (grab-and-go) between 10 AM-12 PM at the Elementary campus.  Practice social distancing and be mindful of our elders.  Stay strong with our Bulldog Hearts!  Thanks.
